Terms of use

Last updated: 23/10/2026

The operator's details will be completed soon; the binding wording is the one published together with the full details

The binding terms for using Teaching: the teachers app, the student portal and Teaching School for schools. The Hebrew version is the governing text.

The service and its operator

Teaching (the "Service") is operated by (company details - to be published soon), company number (company number - to be published soon), whose address is (address - to be published soon) (the "Company"). Enquiries about these terms: (email address - to be published soon).

The Service has three parts: an app for private teachers to manage lessons, debts and collection (the "App"); a public portal where students and parents look for teachers (the "Portal"); and Teaching School, a system for planning timetables and covering absences in schools.

These terms, together with the privacy policy and the accessibility statement, are the entire agreement between the Company and you regarding the use of the Service. They are a standard-form contract and should be read in full.

Definitions

In these terms:

  • "User" - anyone who uses the Service, including a teacher, a school and a visitor.
  • "Teacher" - a person who opened an account in the App to manage their private teaching.
  • "School" - an educational institution that opened a Teaching School account through an authorised representative (the "Scheduler"); a "school teacher" is a teacher employed by the school who enters the system through a personal link, without an account of their own.
  • "Visitor" - anyone who uses the Portal or the support chat without signing in to an account.
  • "Student" and "parent" - a person whose details were entered into the Service by a teacher, and a person who uses the student area through a personal link the teacher gave them.
  • "Subscription" and "plan" - the service plan the teacher chose (a free plan or a paid plan), as detailed on the "My subscription" screen and on the pricing page.
  • "Consumer" - as defined in the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981: an individual who buys the Service for use that is mainly personal, domestic or family. A teacher acting within their business and a school are not consumers for this purpose, unless the law provides otherwise.

Acceptance, scope and language

Registering for the Service, signing in to an account or using the Portal constitutes acceptance of these terms and of the privacy policy. Anyone who does not accept them may not use the Service. The registration form states expressly, with links to both documents, that registering constitutes acceptance of the terms and of the privacy policy.

The terms are published in Hebrew, English, Russian and Arabic for the convenience of users. The Hebrew version is the governing text, and in any inconsistency between the versions it prevails.

Nothing in these terms detracts from a right the law grants you that cannot be waived. A term held void or unfair does not affect the validity of the remaining terms.

Capacity and age

A teacher account may be opened only by a person who is at least 18 years old and has the capacity to enter into a contract. A school account is opened by a representative authorised to bind the school, who confirms this at registration.

Anyone of any age may be a student in the Service. A paid account is opened only by a person who is at least 18 years old. A student who is a minor is entered into the Service by an adult (a teacher, a parent or a school) who is responsible for entering the details and for the parent's consent to it; the Service does not verify age and does not ask for a document proving it. Searching for teachers in the Portal requires no registration. Minors are asked to use the Portal and the student area together with a parent or guardian, and any action involving a financial commitment, such as booking a lesson or declaring a payment, is to be made with the parent's knowledge.

The account, its security and its use

You must provide correct and complete details and update them when they change. Your password and other sign-in means are your responsibility and must not be given to anyone else. Any action taken in the account with your sign-in details is deemed your action, unless you notified us of unauthorised use before it was taken.

A school teacher enters the system through a personal link sent to their email address. The link is personal and must not be passed on; a link that has been exposed should be reported to the Scheduler, who will issue a new one.

Any suspected unauthorised use of an account must be reported to us at once at (email address - to be published soon). The Company may suspend access to an account to stop abuse, and will notify the account holder as soon as possible.

Plans, free trial and billing

A new teacher receives a free trial of 30 days from registration, with no credit card and no charge of any kind. At the end of the trial the account moves automatically to the free plan, whose limits are shown on the "My subscription" screen, unless the teacher chose a paid plan and entered a card.

The prices of every plan are shown on the pricing page and on the "My subscription" screen, in new Israeli shekels and including value added tax. A paid plan is billed in arrears: on the 1st of each month the month that has passed is charged, pro rata by the number of days the account was on a paid plan. A month with no billable day is not charged at all. A lawful accounting document is issued for every charge and is available on the "My subscription" screen.

If a charge fails, the system retries several more times on the days following the billing date and emails you after each failure with a link to update the card. If every attempt fails, the account is locked to read-only until the debt is paid; the data remains stored and exportable in that state too, and the free plan can be chosen with one click. The accrued debt remains on record and payable.

Credit card details are entered only on the secure payment page of the payment provider iCount and never pass through the Company's servers. The Company keeps a payment token, the last four digits, the card type and its expiry, for the recurring charges only.

Referral discount: a teacher who refers a friend through their personal link earns a 50% discount on one monthly charge for each qualifying friend, that is, a friend who signed up, moved to a paid plan and whose first charge succeeded. The discount is taken off the next monthly statement whose amount is above zero; one discount per statement, and a statement never becomes free. Up to 6 discounts can wait at the same time, and a discount that is not used expires 12 months after it was granted. A discount has no cash value: it cannot be withdrawn, transferred or refunded in cash, and it is void when the account is deleted. The Company may change the programme or end it by notice on the site. The referred friend receives nothing beyond the standard trial.

Cancelling and ending the subscription

You can cancel the subscription at any time, directly on the "My subscription" screen, with no cancellation fee and no need to contact anyone. The cancellation takes effect at once: the account becomes read-only with export available, and the days the account was on a paid plan up to the cancellation are charged pro rata in the next charge. Nothing is charged for the period after the cancellation, and no refund is given for days of service already provided. You can also request cancellation in writing at (email address - to be published soon), stating the account's email address.

The subscription is a continuing transaction made at a distance, and a teacher who is a consumer has the cancellation rights of the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, among them the right to cancel a distance sale within 14 days of the transaction or of receiving the disclosure document, whichever is later, and an extended right for a person with a disability, a senior citizen and a new immigrant. The Service's rules are more favourable to the consumer than the law: cancellation applies at once rather than within three business days, no cancellation fee is charged, and the free trial is never billed. Should the law grant you a right that cannot be waived and is wider than stated here, it will be honoured.

Renewing the subscription after a cancellation is done by entering a card again on the "My subscription" screen, and billing starts from the day of renewal.

Teaching School: terms for schools

A school uses Teaching School free of charge until it publishes its first timetable. From the day of the first publication one annual charge applies, by the tier of the number of active teachers in the school, in the amounts shown on the Teaching School page and in the quotation, in new Israeli shekels and including value added tax. Every capability of the system is included in the price.

A payment period is given, counted from the day of the first publication, as shown on the school's billing screen and in the quotation. If the charge is not paid within that period, the system becomes read-only: the published timetable remains available to view, print and export, and it is not taken away from the teachers. Payment is made by bank transfer or by card, in both cases through iCount, and a tax invoice is issued for every charge.

The tier is set by the highest number of active teachers on any day of the period: for the first charge from the day of registration, and on renewal from the year that ended. A change of tier during a year is reflected at the next renewal. The engagement is for a service year; in a year that has begun there is no partial cancellation and no refund, and the school may choose not to renew at the end of the year.

The school enters into these terms as a business, through the Scheduler. The school is responsible for the data about its school teachers being given to the Service lawfully, and for its school teachers being informed of the use of the system and of the privacy policy.

Data about students, parents and school teachers that a user enters

The teacher, and in a school the Scheduler, are the controllers of the data about students, parents and school teachers that they enter into the Service, as that term is defined in the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981. They are responsible for having lawful authority to collect the data and use it, including the parents' consent to receiving messages, and for the data being correct and up to date.

The Company holds and processes this data for the controller only and on their instructions, to operate the Service and for the purposes set out in the privacy policy, and uses it for no other purpose. The Company applies the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017, limits access to the data to those who need it for their role, engages sub-processors only as listed in the privacy policy, and reports to the controller any security incident concerning their data.

The teacher can export all of their data at any time, even when the account is locked or cancelled. On deletion of the account the data is erased as set out in the privacy policy, at the end of 30 days from the request, except records the law requires to be kept; if at that time there is a month not yet billed or a debt in collection, the erasure is delayed until collection ends and no longer than 60 additional days.

A student or parent who wishes to access, correct or delete data about them should apply to the teacher or the school, who are the controllers; a request that reaches the Company is passed on to them, and the Company helps them answer it.

The Portal, the public profile and reviews

Appearing in the Portal happens only at the teacher's choice and on a plan that allows it. The content of the public profile is the teacher's responsibility: it must be true, not misleading, not offensive, and must not infringe the rights of others, including copyright and privacy.

The Portal shows a teacher card with no name and no contact details; each detail is revealed separately at the visitor's click, and by default after watching an advertisement. The teacher's exact address is never revealed, and the search is made by a rounded point only.

A review in the Portal may be written only by a student who really studied with the teacher: the teacher (or the student area) issues a personal rating link, valid for 30 days, and a student can rate any one teacher once every 90 days. A published review carries a "verified student" stamp, which means that the writer studied with the teacher; the stamp is not the Company's confirmation of what the review says. The review is shown with no name and no initials. Where the student is a minor, the link is used by the parent or by the adult who manages the student's details, who is responsible for the review and for its being true; an adult student writes on their own responsibility. A review must be factual and based on genuine experience. Before publication the text passes a word filter and an automated relevance check; a review that is flagged is held and waits for the owner, and the owner may remove a review that is false, offensive, misleading or defamatory and may block anyone who breaks this rule. The Company is not a party to the lessons, does not check the teachers' qualifications or identity, and is not responsible for the quality, price or taking place of the teaching; the engagement between a teacher and a student is between them alone.

Artificial intelligence and automated output

The chat assistant, the reading of constraints written in free text, the timetable proposals and the substitution proposals rely on artificial-intelligence models and on algorithms. Their output may be wrong or incomplete, and it is not legal, accounting, pedagogical or other advice. What is sent to the model: in the chat, the messages you wrote in the conversation as written, so that the assistant can act on them, for example record contact details you asked to leave; for a signed-in teacher also a short context about the account, without student names; and in reading a school's constraints, the text written after phone numbers, email addresses and links are masked, together with the names of the school's teachers, classes and subjects. The details of students and parents entered in the App are not sent to the model. The text of a review is sent, for a relevance check only, to the artificial-intelligence provider listed in "Holders and sub-processors", and no other information about the student or the teacher is sent with it.

The school is responsible for checking every timetable and every substitution proposal and approving them before publication, and the teacher is responsible for checking every summary or suggestion before acting on it. Do not rely on the assistant in financial or legal matters.

Prohibited use

The Service may be used only for the purposes it is intended for. Among other things, and without detracting from the Computers Law, 5755-1995, the Protection of Privacy Law and the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982, it is forbidden:

  • to break into or attempt to break into the Service's systems, to bypass security mechanisms or limits, or to access another user's data;
  • to collect data from the Portal automatically, to run scraping software, or to load the Service in a way that impairs its operation;
  • to upload content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading or infringing, to impersonate another person, or to enter data about a person without lawful authority;
  • to use the Service, including the message templates and the student area, to send advertisements without the recipient's consent or for any other use contrary to law;
  • to copy, reproduce, reverse-engineer or create a derivative work of the Service, its code or its design, except to the extent the law expressly permits.

Intellectual property and user content

The Service, its code, design, interface, texts, marks and logo are the property of the Company or of those who licensed them to it, and are protected under the Copyright Law, 5768-2007, and under every law. You are granted a personal, limited and non-transferable licence to use the Service under these terms, and no more.

The content you enter into the Service (student details, lessons, terms documents, a profile, reviews) remains yours or that of whoever is entitled to it. You grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and transmit it to the extent needed to provide the Service only, and for a public profile and a review also to show them to visitors. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they rotate.

If you believe that content in the Service infringes a right of yours, write to us at (email address - to be published soon) with details, and we will deal with it promptly.

Service notices and marketing mail

The Company sends operational notices required to provide the Service, such as address verification, password reset, notices of a charge, of a failed charge and of a lock, personal links and reports. These notices are not advertisements and are sent without consent to marketing.

At present the Company sends only operational and legally required notices and sends no advertisements. If the Company decides in future to send advertisements, as defined in section 30A of the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982, it will do so only to a person who gave express prior consent in a separate checkbox that is not pre-ticked, and it will first update these terms. Every advertisement will be marked with the word "advertisement" at the start of the subject, will carry the Company's name and contact details, and will include an unsubscribe link that takes effect at once.

Availability of the Service and changes to it

The Company aims for a continuous service but does not undertake full availability or fault-free operation. There may be interruptions for maintenance, upgrades and faults, including at the infrastructure providers. Planned maintenance is announced in advance wherever possible.

The Company may change the Service, add capabilities or discontinue capabilities, provided the change does not materially reduce the service paid for in the current billing period. Reasonable advance notice of the discontinuation of a material capability is given in the Service or by email, and you have the right to export your data and end the engagement.

Liability and its limitation

Subject to any law that cannot be waived, the Service is provided as is and as available. The Company acts with reasonable skill and in accordance with the law, but does not warrant that the Service suits every need, that automated output is accurate, or that data entered by other users is correct.

To the fullest extent the law permits, the Company is not liable for indirect, consequential or special damage, for loss of income, for loss of data the user did not export or back up when able to, or for damage caused by an act or omission of another user or of a third party. The Company's total liability to a user for every cause connected with the Service is limited to the amount the user paid the Company in the twelve months preceding the event, and for a user who paid nothing, to 1,000 new Israeli shekels.

These limitations do not apply to bodily injury, to a malicious act or to liability the law does not permit to be limited, and do not detract from a right the law grants a consumer that cannot be waived.

Ending the engagement and suspension

You can delete the account at any time on the "More" screen under "Delete account". The account is locked at once, and the data is erased after 30 days, or later if a debt remains in collection, and no longer than 60 additional days, as set out in the privacy policy. Exporting the data beforehand is recommended.

The Company may suspend or end access to the Service with reasonable advance notice if these terms were breached, if a debt was not paid after the warnings shown on the "My subscription" screen, or if the law requires it. In a serious breach, including harm to the security of the Service, to the privacy of others or unlawful use, the suspension may be immediate, and notice is given promptly afterwards. Even after a suspension or termination you keep the right to export your data, unless the law forbids it.

Clauses that by their nature are meant to apply after termination, among them intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law and jurisdiction, continue to apply.

Changes to the terms

The Company may update these terms. The updated text is published on this page with the date of the update, and a material change is published before it takes effect with its effective date, and is also brought to the attention of account holders by a notice in the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated text; anyone who does not accept it may end the engagement before then, with no charge for the period after the end.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and every matter concerning the Service are governed by the law of the State of Israel alone. Jurisdiction lies with the competent courts of the (court district - to be published soon) district, Israel, subject to any law that grants you the right to apply to another forum, including a consumer's right to sue at their place of residence. Nothing in these terms denies or limits your right to go to court.

General

Notices from the Company to a user are delivered to the email address registered in the account or by a notice in the Service, and notices from a user to the Company are delivered to (email address - to be published soon); an email notice is deemed delivered on the business day after it was sent. The Company may assign its rights and obligations under these terms to whoever acquires the Service's business, provided the users' rights are preserved; a user may not transfer their account to another person without the Company's written consent. A waiver of a right in one case is not a waiver of it in another.
